Chuck Piccirillo
Interim President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Piccirillo leverages his experience and expertise in the healthcare software industry to lead the Company’s IT department, as well as the development of all etrials software solutions to best meet customer needs; while enabling profitable growth for the business. For the past 20 years he has held similar executive-level roles where he has grown businesses by successfully implementing software product development best practices, technologies, skills and methodologies. Prior to joining etrials Mr. Piccirillo was with Hill-Rom's HealthCare IT Solutions business, Kodak, Carestream Health, and Nova MicroSonics.

Mr. Piccirillo holds a BSEE from Fairleigh Dickinson University.


Joseph (Jay) F. Trepanier III
Interim Secretary and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Trepanier applies his 16 years of financial and operational experience to effectively manage the Company’s financial planning, financial performance, accounting operations, SEC reporting, and record-keeping responsibilities. Before joining etrials in 2008, Trepanier held positions as Chief Finance/Operating Officer with Durham, NC-based SmartOnline, Chief Finance Offer at DataFlux Corporation – a SAS Company, and Director of Finance at Hill-Rom Corporation. Trepanier is highly experienced in financial modeling, cross-functional control and management and strategic planning, and is a licensed CPA in North Carolina, active member in AICPA and NC Board of Certified Public Accountants, a Six Sigma-certified Green Belt and Certified Project Manager in Applied Project Management and Operational Optimization (Harrington Institute).

Jay holds an MBA from the Southern New Hampshire University, B.S. in Accounting from West Virginia University and B.S. in Business from the University of New Hampshire.


Michael Harte
Senior Vice President, Global Strategic Accounts

Mr. Harte leads the sales and business development efforts of the company and is dedicated to delivering the etrials value proposition to the market. Harte is a proven performer in clinical development sales and marketing. He brings extensive pharmaceutical sales experience from Phoenix International Life Sciences, Bio-Pharm Clinical Services, Schering-Plough Corporation and Key Pharmaceuticals.

Harte holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Ursinus College and a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle University.


Michael Mickens
Vice President, Sales and Client Services

Mr. Mickens will be responsible for leading the sales organization, creating and implementing a customer-focused, team-oriented sales strategy to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the life cycle of the company's client relationships. Mr. Mickens brings over 15 years' experience in management positions in sales and professional services. He joined etrials from Cerner Corp., where he was vice president of worldwide sales and business development responsible for global sales of software, education and consulting services to pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies, contract research organizations and research organizations. Prior to Cerner Corp., he was vice president of worldwide sales and business development at QED Solutions, Inc. and before that he held various sales and business development positions at blue chip organizations like Fiserv and Oracle Corporation.

Mickens has a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Colorado State University. Additionally, Michael teaches graduate level courses as an adjunct professor of business at Southwestern College.


Robert Sammis
Vice President, Client Services

Mr. Sammis oversees the etrials client services organization, which is responsible for managing the business at the account level, including overall accountability for project delivery and quality, staffing, and client satisfaction to ensure each engagement provides a full utilization of services and solutions. He has more than 25 years management experience holding operational and financial responsibilities in industries including healthcare and technology. In addition, Sammis has worked in private practice, specializing in securing investment and re-engineering operations to maximize productivity in the workplace. He served as chief operating officer at a public CRO, Clinicor, Inc., from 1992 to 2000, where he was involved in building the company from a start-up to a full-service provider for major pharmaceutical and biotech firms in the US and Europe. As COO, Sammis successfully spearheaded an effort to establish Clinicor as one of only six preferred providers for Bristol Myers-Squibb.

Sammis has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas.


Stuart Thiede
Vice President, Service Delivery

Mr. Thiede leads all customer-facing operations which include project management, our global help desk, and CRO Partnership service delivery functions. Mr. Thiede has a long tenure of driving high customer satisfaction and a proven track record of building and managing effective teams which support complex software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions in the pharmaceutical market. For eight years Mr. Thiede served as a senior vice president at Dendrite International, where he managed the company’s operations. He also spent 19 years at Unisys Corporation in several executive level roles, including Vice President Global Alliance, where he was instrumental in successfully structuring the service delivery operations and negotiating the terms for a $50 million program.
